PB & Pumpkin Doggie Treats

Posted: Jul 19 2009

For my son, Karis’s birthday, he wanted to take our dog, Oscar, to one of those fancy shmancy doggie bakeries to get some treats. It was a fun trip and everyone had a great time, but I was a bit taken aback by the prices for doggie goodies. After paying several dollars for a small pack of biscuits, I vowed that I was going to make something far superior for something waaaay less. Mission accomplished! Karis and I had a blast making these PB & Pumpkin doggie treats—lots more fun than a trip to the mall. And the best part? We made a huge batch for about 50 cents!

2 eggs
1 cup canned pumpkin
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp oil
2 Tbsp molasses
3 cups oat flour (may need a bit more to roll out the dough)
1/2 cup flax meal
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Mix together all wet ingredients. Mix together all dry ingredients. Combine and smoosh into a dough. Roll out the dough onto a greased cookie sheet. Score our squares by making criss-crosses all over the dough with a pizza cutter. Cook at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Allow to cool and break apart into treats. Oscar fell in love with these (and so will your pup)!!!

Talk About It!
